    A rare pair of gilt bronze and brown patinated bronze fireplaces topped with two chiseled celestial globes, mounted on curved feet.
    Two Cupids perched on a scrolled acanthus leaf, their bows drawn, ready to release their arrows, form the central scene in finely chiseled gilt bronze.
    The rectangular base is adorned with a water leaf.
    A fine piece of work from the early 19th century, similar to the andirons and fireplaces produced by Claude Galle (1859-1815).

    Beautifully preserved, with original gilding and patina.

    Empire period.
