Luxurious object, beautiful circular shape, cabinetwork veneered with amboyna burl, silver-plated bronze fittings. It brings together an inkwell cup, a talquer, a pen holder, a candle holder, a half-moon housing, it is lit in the center by an engraved candle holder, an openwork and engraved gallery surrounds it, (all this is removable ), 3 claw feet in plated bronze, 3 lion head masks, gripping a ring, a base turned in silvered brass.
No signature, but 2 stamps (under one foot and on the bobèche). VP for Victor Paillard. renowned bronze maker and sculptor, 1805/1886
Condition: beautiful to see, the silvering is still very fresh, the varnish of the wood part intact. But, a little play in the fixing of the central candle holder, and a previous owner had to try pliers without precaution, leaving small scratches, (see photo)
