Important inkwell with double receptacle, consisting of a base in red Morello cherry marble from the Pyrenees, flared in its front part to serve as a pen rest. On each side are two gilt bronze inkwells entirely chiseled with very fine patterns, featuring palmettes and friezes. Their tops can be lifted easily with their pine cone-shaped pull button, revealing a cavity for the ink container, one of which is missing. In the center, on a small marble base surmounted by a gilded bronze element, rests a bust of Napoleon with brown patina: this is removable, and initially served as a seal holder in order to affix the wax seal that sealed The mails.
This beautiful object will elegantly dress your office, while bringing a historical touch to your decoration.
