    Description :
    chased bronze, gilded.
On a pedestal made of a Rocaille decoration is placed the terrace of the writing desk representing a turbulent sea with its waves in which two tritons blow in conches, in the center a winged naiad supports a large shell.
One will notice details like the reeds, a dolphin swimming among the tritons, the very worked edge of the big shell, the surf of the waves...
On the other hand, the sculptor has represented the "very human" buttocks of the newts emerging from the water, whereas they have fish tails, which denotes a freedom and a light audacity that would have disappeared in the 19th century.
The valves of the inkwells are treated as a heap of shells.
The proportions of this writing desk also make one think of a basin animated by marine groups in the antique style, one can imagine the basins of Versailles.
It is almost organized like a basin, especially given the extreme discretion of the valves of the cups.
It is a particularly rare object since there is no similar model even in the Louis XV style made in the 19th century.

    Condition:
very good condition, the gilding is perfect.
