Miniature on vellum or something else??? (The object has not been disassembled.) It depicts a young girl with a white ribbon in her hair, wearing a white dress in the neoclassical style typical of the late 18th century to early 19th century. The portrait is set within an oval 14k gold medallion, fitted with a bail so it can be worn as a pendant. The back contains a lock of hair beneath the domed glass. The portrait is in good condition; only a small scratch is visible under a magnifying glass on the front glass. It measures 7.7 cm long by 6.4 cm wide; with the bail, it measures 9 cm.
Note: This item has not been opened, which is why I cannot say what material it was painted on. The gold has been tested.
