I present a pair of generous planters in thick white porcelain, enameled in the Japonisante style with a fresh, colorful design of flowers animated by birds, a nest and a pretty pair of birds enameled in relief, responding in symmetry with branches of pink cherry blossoms. Beautifully proportioned and brilliantly painted, these two pieces in perfect condition date from the first part of the 19th century (Louis Philippe), and are highly decorative with their well-ornamented bordered collars highlighted with bright blue highlights and gold fillets, responding to the base. By definition, these two beautiful pieces were an excellent wedding gift, the "prosperity of the couple" symbolized by the construction around the family nest. Unsigned, but probably Paris porcelain circa 1840, they are in very good original condition and are highly pleasing and decorative to the eye....
