Our spectacular, richly decorated monstrance is in gilded brass.
It rests on a six-pass poly-lobed base enriched with six matching blue enamelled medallions representing the Blessed Virgin in Glory, the four Evangelists and Christ on the Cross.
The stem is embellished with a cabochon bow. A kneeling seraph supports the central lunette, surrounded by a set of arrows, finials and pinnacles, and niches featuring St. Joseph and St. Teresa of Avila, guardians of the host offered for adoration, who are answered by St. Peter and St. Paul.
Above the canopy, the figure of God the Father in the Cloud is accompanied by the dove of the Holy Spirit. A cross sums up and completes the presentation of this masterpiece of 19th-century goldsmithery.

Lunette diameter 6.3 cm.
Probably the work of a Rhineland or Westphalian master silversmith.
