Sideboard / Bar by Louis Majorelle - La Vigne model
Circa 1900-1910
Blond mahogany, gilt bronze and chased brass
Very good condition - Original key
H. 160 cm - W. 124 cm - D. 53 cm
This remarkable sideboard, also designed as a bar, is an emblematic creation by Louis Majorelle and belongs to the famous La Vigne model. Made of blond mahogany, it is distinguished by the warm elegance of its wood and by a remarkable decorative work inspired by plants. Carvings of grapevines, whose stylized naturalism Majorelle mastered perfectly, enliven the jambs and underline the slender silhouette of the piece.
The metalwork reflects exceptional craftsmanship: generous gilded bronze handles, finely chased brass hinges and delicately worked keyways. The presence of the original key reinforces the completeness and authenticity of this piece.
In excellent condition, this piece illustrates the mature period of Nancy Art Nouveau, combining functionality and decorative refinement.
