A pair of rosewood bedside tables, sofa ends or occasional furniture with two side flaps, opening to two drawers with sycamore-maple bottoms and a cavity that can be removed to give them more visual lightness.
Note the "secret" trapdoor at the back and the pleasingly curved, molded legs. Louis XV-style, they date from the mid-19th century, circa 1850-1860, and are of very fine cabinetmaking quality.
