A beautiful mahogany and mahogany veneer bedside table with a blue Turquin marble top. This is a fine piece from the Empire or Restoration period, featuring columns with gilt bronze mounts. It opens with a cupboard and a drawer. Parisian production, circa 1810-1820.

While column bedside tables were very popular, our model belongs to the high-end range: Cuban flame mahogany veneered over oak, mercury-gilt bronze mounts, luxury marble, and mounted on casters. Our bedside table is veneered on all four sides and could be used to create a pedestal to support a statue placed in the center of a living room.

The varnish is in very good condition, having been cleaned and polished by our cabinetmaker. The mercury gilding is well preserved. A beautiful piece for collectors in very good condition.
