Cabinet of Vietnamese origin in solid mahogany, lavishly decorated with oriental sculptures.
In one piece, it consists of several storage spaces and in particular two columns of niches on the sides. The first, on the left, 37 cm x 37 cm wide, consists of three exhibition compartments, while the second, on the right, recessed and narrower (27 cm x 27 cm), offers four. Each of these niches is embellished in the upper part with cut Mahogany friezes.
This astonishing Cabinet opens with two doors: the first, at the bottom, with the facade decorated with backyard birds pecking in the shelter of bamboo, reveals a bare space 50 cm high. A second, in the central part, reveals three shelves 33.5 cm deep, placed on racks and therefore adjustable as desired over a total height of 101 cm. It has on its visible face a generous Dragon Decor, seeming to intertwine a tree pruned in the Japanese style. These two leaves have their contours underlined by sculpted friezes forming frames and they are equipped with two discreet pull handles almost indistinct from the rest of the furniture.
The largest of these doors is topped with a decorative panel representing a bird posed on a branch of blooming roses and buttons.
This singular piece of furniture also consists of two drawers, each 9 cm deep, with fronts with protruding bouquets of flowers, two of them acting as hidden handles.
The left side of this Cabinet is adorned, under the column, with a new scene of birds and foliage, reminiscent of the one described above.
The pediment is an important imaginary reptilian creature, typically Asian, a culture also recalled by the pagoda roof cutouts on either side of the columns.
The whole rests on a wide scalloped crosspiece, richly decorated with plant sculptures, itself camped on six legs cut in windings.
