Chest on mahogany legs opening with a small drawer in the crosspiece and adorned on the front with an ebony anvil and hammer from Ghana (Africa).
Period: first half of the 19th century
The anvil symbolizes a portable altar (of which there is only one) that is always placed in the care of the eldest Sinayogo lineage head. It consists of a gold rod, a red copper rod and a yellow copper rod enclosed in a black iron sheet, symbolizing fire, air, water and earth respectively.
The anvil is accompanied by a small black iron hammer. Both objects are consecrated by a sacrifice.
