Mahogany cabinet, Louis XVI style, Napoleon III period - 19th century

Cabinet in solid and veneered mahogany, generously lined with brass, Louis XVI style.
Although in one piece, we will choose to describe it in two stages.
The upper part, narrower, opens in its center by a door forming a Tabernacle, equipped with a keyhole, a working lock, and its key. Its facade consists of a projecting panel, underlined by a quarter-round brass rod. It is cut with Greek corners, leaving room in its corners with four Rosettes. This door also benefits from a brass decoration representing birds drinking from a fountain. She discovers two compartments formed by the presence of a fixed shelf. On both sides, this piece of furniture offers two niches with two brass columns, as well as two small drawers with chiseled pull buttons. The top of this first part is topped with a Baluster Gallery on three of its sides. It is also bordered by a brass frieze, shaped into curtains held up by tassels.
The lower element opens with three drawers, the middle one being wider than the other two, and all of them provided with pull pendants. This belt is supported at the front by four turned Columns, with Grooves trimmed with brass, and crowned with Capitals in Bronze. The low shelf, cut back on the front, rests on four molded feet at the front and two straight feet at the back.
Note that each of the tops of this piece of furniture has its periphery decorated with a half-round brass rod, and each drawer front offers a frame inlaid with the same alloy.
The quality of the wood and the fittings of this elegant cabinet with interesting dimensions deserves to be underlined.
