Richly carved Renaissance-style walnut buffet / cabinet from the late 19th century.
This spectacular piece of furniture is distinguished by its particularly abundant and finely executed ornamentation. The overhanging cornice is underlined by geometrical and denticulated friezes, resting on an entablature carved with highly expressive masks, foliage and foliage motifs.
The upper part opens with two deeply carved panels, centered on medallions in relief depicting antique-style profiles, surrounded by foliage and symbolic motifs. The jambs are enlivened by terms and sculpted figures, adding relief and theatricality to the whole.
The lower part of the mantel repeats this decorative richness, with carved panels decorated with masks, trophies and plant compositions, framed by pilasters adorned with figures in high relief. The mantel rests on a molded base with repetitive motifs, supported by massive geometrically decorated feet.
