    Victorian central pedestal table in walnut root, with contemporary castor base.

    The top is circular, with floral marquetry in the center and on the edge.

    The finely carved central trunk rests on three cabriole legs adorned with scrolls and curls.

    The top can be tilted, hence the term "voile", to take up less space or be stored in a corner.

    Historical notes: The term "Victorian" refers to the reign of the great Queen Victoria, who ruled England from 1837 to 1901. A period of great change and improved living conditions, these seventy years were also characterized by greater rigor in all aspects of life, including furnishings.

    This gave rise to the original and inimitable Victorian style, which became the English style par excellence, characteristic of the new bourgeoisie.
