Pair of large Jansen coffee tables – Polychrome wood and tempered glass – 1970s
A very elegant pair of large Jansen coffee tables dating from the 1970s.
They feature a remarkable polychrome wood base with fluted decoration, embellished with sculpted elements and elegantly scrolled feet. The polychromy, in shades of green, gold, and patina, gives the pieces a great deal of character and recalls the iconic neoclassical designs of 1970s decor.
Each table has two tempered glass tops: a large rectangular upper shelf and a lower shelf, allowing the particularly intricate architecture of the base to be fully appreciated.
The combination of glass and polychrome wood gives these tables a refined, decorative, and airy appearance. Their beautiful proportions, at 140 cm in length, allow them to be integrated into both a large, classic living room and a contemporary interior. Period: 1970s
