Coffee table by the duo of designers Guillerme and Chambron from Lille in oak with a top decorated with sixteen glazed tiles by the ceramist Boleslaw Danikowski.
These tiles present a varied decoration of birds, fish, butterflies, horses, ceramics, plants, female faces and stylized horses.
After training at the Beaux-Arts in Lille, Boleslaw Danikowski worked as an art-ceramist potter in a small village in northern France. Part of his production is integrated into the furniture of the decorators Guillerme and Chambron (Votre Maison). Independent and always inventive creator, he was followed by a faithful clientele and realized some public orders. He also invested himself in photography during the last ten years of his life.
This coffee table has a system that allows it to be transformed into a high dining table.
Circa 1960.
Very good condition.
