Danielle Quarante is a French designer, born in Sarcelles on June 22, 1938. She lives and works in Paris.
She entered the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in 1959. She creates objects in molded wood, thermoformable materials and polyester. Her "Balthazar" stacking chairs and tables were selected for the Prisunic-Shell competition in 1972.
She was the first to introduce design training into an engineering curriculum at Compiègne University of Technology.
She presented the Albatros armchair at the 1969 Salon des Artistes Décorateurs. The shapes of this armchair are made possible by the polyester and fiberglass material, which offers both strength and elasticity.
She was one of the first designers to use the computer-aided graphic design system.
