Stunning Directoire-period mahogany dining table, circa 1800
A remarkable Directoire-period dining tablemade of mahogany and measuring an exceptional 3.58 meters with its three extensions.
The table stands out for its elegant and harmonious lines, accentuated by the frieze found on both the main tabletop and each of the extension leaves. Very often the leaves don't have friezes.
It rests on eight tapered Directoire-style legs topped with casters, which lend it a refined look while ensuring excellent stability—essential given its generous dimensions.
Its remarkable proportions and classic elegance make it a piece with character, ideal for a prestigious dining room, a charming home, or a contemporary interior, to which it will bring a warm and timeless presence.
The table comes with three solid mahogany extension leaves. The wood displays a beautiful flame grain, particularly visible on the tabletop, extensions and the friezes, which have also been carefully polished to reveal the full richness of the wood’s grain.
The table and its three extension leaves have been completely hand polished in our workshops. It now boasts a superb patina and finish that allow it to be fully appreciated without a tablecloth, showcasing the natural beauty of the mahogany.
Condition:perfect condition, fully repolished in our workshops.
