Mahogany veneered chest of drawers made by the Lyon cabinetmakers Pierre Daubet and Claude Dumarest around 1850.
Originally this piece of furniture had a system that automatically closed the furniture like a nut, a system made of sliding rods pulling mobile elements on rollers. The leather was redone.
These rods, given their obsolescence, were removed during the restoration.
