This small solid walnut chest of drawers, known as a sauteuse, has two rows of drawers. The crossbow-shaped front rests on curved legs ending in sabots. The front uprights are inlaid halfway with a small five-pointed star. The crosspiece under the drawers, carved with a shell in the center, is fretted and bordered with a small elegy cord, as are the sides. It is adorned with drop handles and bronze locks that date back to the 18th century. Originally from the Rhône Valley, it was produced in the 18th century. Well preserved, its wood is sound, and only the tips of the legs and the drawer ends have been restored.
