After obtaining his master's degree in 1747, Hansen set up his studio on Rue de Charenton and died a few years later, in 1756. The numerous works he left behind are in the Louis XV style, classical in form, crafted with great taste and elegance, generally in rosewood and violetwood veneer, richly decorated with flowers, branches, and bronze rocailles.
