    Rosewood veneered chest of drawers - writing desk, France, late 18th century. The front has three drawers separated by crosspieces decorated with a meander-shaped profile. The first drawer slides open and slides onto a vase and four drawers. Fluted inlaid pilaster strips with a gilt-bronze frieze, the apron is decorated with a gilt-bronze scroll motif, straight sides, metal inserts, and a Breccia marble top. Stamped "J B Tuart" (master in 1760) on the top under the marble. Provenance: Galerie Lucien Vigneau, Paris. 95 x 82 x 43.5 cm.
