A Louis XV period commode from Paris, circa 1760, stamped J.B. GALET for Jean-Baptiste GALET.

He became a Master craftsman on May 13, 1754.

This commode, typical of the Louis XV-Louis XVI Transition style, is appealing for its balanced lines and the finesse of its marquetry. The front features four drawers in three rows, highlighted by a rosewood chevron frieze, creating an elegant interplay of contrasts. The key is missing.
