Louis XV Style Flap Secretary – Solid Cherry – Chiseled Bronze

Louis XV style flap secretary, made of solid cherry, with provincial structure from the beginning of the 20th century.

The piece of furniture consists of an upper drawer decorated with chiseled bronzes with rocaille motifs, a central flap (50 cm) lined with a beige leather top bordered by a golden frieze serving as a writing surface, and three lower drawers equipped with bronze handles and rosettes. The interior of the flap is organized into compartments with cut-out curves and small drawers with bronze handles. The piece of furniture rests on arched legs typical of the period, ending in chiseled bronze sabots. The secondary structure of the drawers is assembled in oak, testifying to provincial manufacturing tradition. Original lock and key, functional.

Workshop observation: visible wear on the upper plate (scratches, lack of wax); leather of the flap damaged, replacement or restoration to be planned. Cleaning and re-waxing recommended.
