A lady's writing desk in rosewood and amaranth veneer, featuring a single drawer at the top, a central drop-leaf door revealing four drawers, four niches, and a green leather writing desk, ending in two lower doors.
The top is made of original gray Ste Anne marble (restored, see photos).
This Louis XVI period work is stamped J. BIRKLE (1734-1803), and was awarded the title of master in 1764 and the JME (Jurande des Maîtres Ebénistes).
