Beautiful solid mahogany table with brass inlay and handkerchief top that converts into a games table.
A drawer, inlaid with brass fillet, with original brass lock and key in working order, is located in the waistband. The upper part of the legs is also inlaid with brass fillet. The underside is surrounded by a half-round to square brass molding.
The table rests on four spindle-turned "toupie" legs with stopped brass fluting. A bronze collar at the top and a ball shoe at the bottom decorate each leg.
The top of this table features four triangles inlaid with small brass fillets, lined with a larger one. On the three edges of these triangles we find a brass quarter-round. By pivoting the tabletop slightly, the end of one of the triangles lifts up, allowing the table to be opened. This is done on inlaid brass hinges, visible from the inside.
In each of the four elements, there's a circular element for placing pawns. The central part is covered in green felt with braid. The corners are concave.
