Large design bookcase by Kim Moltzer made in the 1970s. The bookcase is rectangular in shape and uses the geometric forms favoured by the designer. It has eight smoked glass shelves in a large gilded brass structure. The black lacquered wooden base opens with three doors to reveal storage space. This large, high-quality piece of furniture can be used as a room divider.
Born in Berlin, Kim Moltzer (1938-2015) was raised in Argentina before studying in Europe. In 1966, he founded ECFI, a design office for professional spaces and flats with the architect Jean-Paul Barray. A versatile artist, he designed furniture for numerous French personalities such as the Rothchilds and the Pompidou couple.
