    Collector's Display Cabinet in Carved Walnut – L. Roustan – 1913 – Art Nouveau
A very fine collector's display cabinet in carved walnut and natural wood, bearing an incised signature "L. Roustan" and the date "1913".
This signature and date suggest an attribution to Laurent Roustan (1877-1952), also known as Pierre-Laurent Roustan, a French artist and craftsman specializing in woodworking and sculpture, active in the early 20th century.
The piece boasts a particularly elegant design, resting on four tall, slender, cabriole legs. The apron is richly worked and highlighted with carved friezes, while the four corners are adorned with remarkable floral compositions carved in relief, characteristic of the naturalistic taste of the Art Nouveau period.
The upper section forms a true display case. The large glass top is hinged and fully opens, revealing an interior lined with light velvet. The glass sides also allow the displayed objects to be admired from different angles.

A lock on the front secures the top.

This display case was specifically designed for the presentation and protection of collectibles: jewelry, watches, medals, coins, miniatures, precious objects, small bronzes, or curiosities.
The signature "L. Roustan," along with the date 1913, is naturally one of the main points of interest for this piece. This period corresponds to the activity of Laurent Roustan, whose work in furniture making and wood carving is documented at the beginning of the 20th century.
