Louis XVI Style Mahogany Bookcase 19th Century

Circa 1870

Superb mahogany and mahogany veneer bookcase in the Louis XVI style, standing on Toupies front legs and straight rear legs. The front opens with a lower drawer and two partially glazed doors. These reveal five interior, height-adjustable, rack-and-pinion shelves.

This Bookcase is richly adorned with Bronze and Gilded Brass such as Rings, Frames, Fluting, Lock Escutcheons, Inlaid Decorations. Its Detached Column Mounts are inlaid with gilded brass. Attractive Gilded Brass Marquetry decorations at top and bottom. Its Glass Panes and Panels underlined with Gilded Brass Rods. Has its own Key. Can be completely dismantled.

Beautifully crafted furniture. Beautiful Wood Essence and Finish.
