Galerie Georgette Art Nouveau presents this exquisite Art Nouveau display bookcase attributed to the Majorelle workshops. This attribution is further supported by the existence of a similar model in our possession bearing the Majorelle workshop stamp. This display bookcase is crafted from mahogany and mahogany veneer, adorned with pine cone carvings. Each door is exquisitely carved according to this model, with a repeating detail at the central pediment. Each door operates with superb hardware and comes with its own key. The central section is glazed, allowing for the display of objects, while each side panel is closed, providing storage. Note the two decorative niches that lend the piece a great deal of elegance. The last photograph shows a matching desk of the same model, currently undergoing restoration. Together, they could form a very fine study. Viewable in our shop in Toucy, Yonne (89130).
