Beautiful display case in rosewood and mahogany marquetry, from a Parisian workshop from the mid-19th century.
This refined piece of furniture is made up of two glass doors. The lower part of these is solid and decorated with a veneer of four leaves of rosewood arranged like a butterfly wing. This lively composition is surrounded by a lemon tree net surrounded by mahogany.
Two thirds of these doors are glazed. We discover a rosewood surround arranged diagonally accompanied by lemon tree and mahogany. The top of the doors is slightly rounded. These are dark with original glass and have three brass hinges. This piece of furniture is equipped with a working lock with its rear bronze key. The bronze entrances are original. The junction between the doors has a surface-mounted joint cover in the same tone as the underside. When opening we discover four original sycamore veneer shelves adjustable on racks and with slightly blackened edges.
This small bookcase has cut-sided uprights inlaid with rosewood marquetry arranged diagonally surrounded by a lemon tree net. The front of the mahogany leg is also worked diagonally. The slightly projecting base, with a cutout on the front, is accompanied on each side by a slightly humped foot dressed in an original bronze. We also find a beautiful bronze on the lower crosspiece.
The sides of this piece of furniture are composed in the upper part of a panel made of four sheets of rosewood arranged like butterfly wings and of a lower part which has the same marquetry surrounded by a lemon tree net and mahogany.
This display case is topped with a mahogany veneer top arranged like an open book. The edge is made of falling wire rosewood. The back and bottom of this piece of furniture is in light oak.
Authentic and functional, this small, harmonious display library, of Parisian quality, benefits from incredible finesse.
