Beautiful solid mahogany and mahogany veneer pedestal display case
Late 19th century
Rich ormolu ornamentation, resting on four legs joined by an x-shaped brace topped by a chased ormolu flower.
Opening to a drawer in the belt with system (secret push-button)

Bears a label on the reverse indicating A. CHEVRIÉ

A. Cheviré is listed in 1878 on rue Porte foin, then on rue Braque from 1886, as a manufacturer of art furniture, small stylish furniture and artistic fantasies, then on rue Debelleyme at the end of the century. He took part in the 1878 and 1889 Exhibitions, where he won a silver medal.
