Elegant Louis XV style carved oak table with a side drawer, 19th century.
The four arched legs with hooves are carved with acanthus leaves.
The four sides are also carved with acanthus leaves surrounding a Regency-style shell on a latticework background.
Very fine and deep carving.
The sides are fretworked on all four sides.
The side drawer is dovetailed.
The top is molded and carved with a plant motif around the edge.
The top is covered with a wool needlepoint tapestry with a greenery motif in good used condition.
The table is pegged and sturdy.
Note: the base and apron are most likely from the 18th century and were recarved under Napoleon III, as was the fashion at the time.
The top was probably added during the Napoleon III era.
This piece of furniture has undergone previous alterations but is nonetheless a delightful coffee table that will find its place in a Cozy interior: boudoir, living room...
