    Gae Aulenti is an Italian architect and designer renowned for her spectacular transformations of historic buildings into cultural venues: The rehabilitation of the Gare d'Orsay, transformed into the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, the refurbishment of the Musée National d'Art Moderne at the Centre Pompidou, Paris, the restoration of the Palazzo Grassi in Venice.
