Exceptional solid walnut desk, molded and finely carved with a hogweed design. The top is richly inlaid with umbels and a dragonfly in flight against a background of Rio and Burmese rosewood. It opens with three small drawers on the top and one drawer along the apron. The asymmetrical frame features side compartments with cutouts that echo the design. Bronze knobs. Note two small old veneer grafts on the top and treated and filled wood-boring holes. A rare model with a superb patina!
