Flat desk with sliding shelves – Louis XVI style – Mahogany, leather and brass

Louis XVI style flat desk in solid mahogany, 1960 period, restored by our workshops.

Central tray covered in gray-beige leather decorated with stamped gold threads and a plant frieze at the edge. Two sliding side shelves upholstered in the same leather decorated with gilding, bringing the total width to 230 cm (shelves: 2 x 37 cm, fixed width: 156 cm). Belt punctuated by 5 drawers organized in two rows of three, separated by columns and decorated with classic-style chiseled bronze keyholes; brass threads running throughout the crosspiece. Four tapered and fluted legs, characteristic of the Louis XVI vocabulary, decorated with brass rings and resting on sabots of the same metal. Furniture entirely original in its structure, leather of the top showing some slight normal signs of wear. Five new keys made during the restoration; functional locks. Underband: 60 cm. Height: 75 cm. Weight: approximately 60 kg.
