Mid-Directoire mahogany veneered desk with a narrow center drawer, veneered in developed mahogany burl. The drawer is pulled out using a fitted key with a later bronze keyhole. The original lock is in working order. On either side of the cabinet are further drawers: two on the left-hand side and a very deep one on the right. The latter simulates two drawers on the front, and has a cash drawer with coin tray and lockable safe inside. The keys are fitted and the original locks are in working order.
This all-sided desk rests on four sheathed legs ending in brass sabots.
The wire mahogany top is covered in three-part leather, centered on the drawers, with cold vignette, gilded vignette and small angles. On either side of the desk are leather-trimmed pulls, pulled by small brass rings.
This mid-range desk will easily find its place in your work or living space, and will appeal for its sober lines and quality essence.
