A rare and superb Empire-period mahogany and mahogany veneer secrétaire barbière on all sides. Ingenious, it combines a black marble basin top that slides to reveal a retractable, pivoting mirror. On either side is a small drawer for a beard kit. The leather-covered flap at the bottom opens onto a secretary above three storage drawers. Original working key and locks. Very good condition. early 19th century.
