A splendid Parisian dressing table, a testament to the skills of early 19th-century cabinetmakers. Made of rosewood veneer and subtly inlaid with lemongrass marquetry, it embodies the elegance and refinement of the Charles X period.
Its swan-necked psyche features an oval mirror framed by a delicate marquetry of florets and leaf garlands. Mounted on a scrolled structure, it pivots on an axis adorned at each end with a chased bronze pinecone.
The Carrara marble top features a finely carved oval. The cabinet opens into a slightly recessed drawer in the waist, adorned with a rich inlaid decoration of fillets, foliage, flowers and scrolls. It is fitted with a functional lock and key.
The ensemble rests on two imposing scrolled console legs, also adorned with lemon-tree inlays and palmettes. The lower part reveals a concave base sublimated by sumptuous marquetry, while the rear uprights retain their straight lines, ensuring harmony and balance to this exceptional piece.
