    19th Century Liège-Style Side Table

    A truly unique side table.
This is a floating table with a finely crafted and sculpted design on all sides, made of light oak.

    A 19th-century Liège piece.
This table features a beautiful rectangular light oak top flanked by corner brackets.
The top rests on finely crafted, shaped stretchers decorated with floral motifs and acanthus leaves, the edges of which are finished with a molding along their entire length.
The whole piece rests on four cabriole legs ending in hoof-like feet, simulating the hooves of ungulates, and whose upper sections connect to the stretchers with a very attractive, finely sculpted acanthus leaf design.
This table dates from the early 19th century and is still entirely pegged.
Thanks to its flared base, it is very stable and can support a considerable weight. Consequently.

It was treated with Xylophene as a preventative measure, but it was not attacked by wood-boring insects.
The oak is very beautiful with a fine grain and a blond, walnut-colored patina, a waxed and polished finish without any varnish.
The proportions are charming, and since it is finished on each side, you can place it in the center of a room.
It remains, moreover, easy to handle and lightweight.
It could be considered a hunting table thanks to its ungulate-like legs.

A small corner on one of the corners of the tabletop has been restored.

A very beautiful and unusual coffee table; it is very decorative.
