Antique side table with a removable painted sheet metal top resting on a folding bamboo-style wooden base.
The raised-edge top is decorated, on a black background, with a scattering of small polychrome flowers and a central bouquet within a gilt cartouche. Gilt scrolls and interlacing patterns embellish the border.
The cross-braced support features a decoration imitating bamboo knots. A wide, riveted strip of tan leather completes the lower section.
The combination of the painted top, the patinated wood, and the leather gives this table a warm presence. Its removable top also allows for independent use. The table also folds for storage.
