Small reading desk in solid walnut composed of a top and a column adjustable in height and designed in 1940.
The whole rests on a rectangle-shaped base, molded with a second. Note that the design of this base, with a significant footprint, offers perfect stability to the whole.
On this base is established a ribbed barrel, of rectangular section, enclosing a central tube, chrome-plated and cylindrical, benefiting from a sliding axis allowing the height adjustment of this atypical piece of furniture.
The reading support is supported by a metal frame and has the particularity of being adjustable in its degree of inclination thanks to a tightening lever located below it. This four-sided top is defined by an entourage in 4 cm thick strips and is embellished in its center with a panel made of a pretty solid walnut wood, known as "deployed". There is a thin brass rod on the front and rear panel of this adjustable table, thus making it possible to hold a book or other manuscript there.
Unique and adaptable, this small lectern can retain its original function of writing desk or desk, particularly useful if the book is bulky or valuable and if it cannot be held in the hand.
