Bistro table – Art Nouveau style – Cast iron and veined marble – Period 1900

Art Nouveau style bistro table, Belle Époque period, circa 1890-1910, with oval veined marble top and lacquered cast iron leg.

The oval top presents a marble with complex veining mixing gray, purple and greenish tones, with a polished surface. The cast iron base consists of an X-shaped structure with double curved uprights, connected by an ornate central spacer. The feet end in scrolls and sabots characteristic of the Art Nouveau vocabulary, with decoration of stylized foliage.

The entire cast iron structure shows visible wear: areas of oxidation and flaking of the original white paint. Cleaning and repainting to be considered depending on use.
