A rare Louis XV period piece, this low screen, ideal for a drawing room or alcove, retains its original exotic wallpaper.
Ideal for dividing a room or concealing part of it, this low Louis XV screen is functional, practical, and highly decorative.
It consists of five heavily molded walnut panels, each with a gendarme's hat-shaped top, securely hinged with original bronze hinges.
The inner panels slide freely upwards and have retained their beautiful original wallpaper.
This wallpaper is mounted on canvas within a period frame.
The 18th-century wallpaper features an exotic design of flowers and birds in the Indian style.
A superb piece, even though there are tears and losses visible in the photos.
Likely among the earliest wallpapers of the 18th century, it has retained magnificent colors.
This screen is in perfect working order.
The walnut has a beautiful patina.
A rare example of a low screen from this period.
