Remarkable Cuban Mahogany Wardrobe, with imposing dimensions, topped by a heart-shaped Crossbow Cornice.
It opens with two large doors cut out in accolade in the upper part. They are composed of recessed panels with contours emphasized by wavy moldings. Each of these doors is held by three large brass pins and has a long lock entrance. The right-hand door is equipped with an original three-point lock. The cabinet is supplied with its period key. Each of the panels is made of Cuban mahogany veneer with beautiful symmetrical grain on a cleverly concealed vertical axis. The interior is furnished with four 59 cm deep shelves on fixed slats and two drawers of unequal widths.
The bottom rail of this impressive cabinet is generously scrolled and features shell, foliage and scroll decorations.

Despite their considerable height, the sides are made of a single panel, also recessed.
The whole rests on two Snail feet at the front and two more Sober feet at the back.

This cabinet is listed in the book 'Le Décor Nantais de l'Armateur au XVIIIe siècle', by Françoise Maillet. In addition to its 250 years of history, the assets and the singularity of this Regional furniture reside essentially in the shape of its Cornice and the omnipresence of its sculptures.
