Large enameled pâte de verre brewery canopy featuring a heron at the water's edge, surrounded by stylized irises and water lilies. The decoration, with its bright hues and supple lines, is fully in keeping with the Art Nouveau aesthetic. Signed Picard & Cie lower right, this decorative work illustrates the production of a Parisian workshop active between 1890 and 1910, specializing in glassware for public buildings.
This type of glasswork, rarely preserved in this state, is a remarkable decorative testimony to the Belle Époque.
