Large Legras vase, Lamartine model, decorated with enameled anemones on satin-finished glass, circa 1900.
Superb Lamartine-shaped vase (30 cm high) with a periwinkle blue satin-finished base and delicately hand-painted enameled anemones. Gold-putoised collar.
Magnificent, high-quality work from the early 20th century by the Legras glass and crystal works of Saint-Denis.
Unsigned model but listed and authenticated in the Legras catalogue raisonné "French Popular Artistic Glassworks" on page 292 under reference 0889 (ref. 3028).
This vase was produced in various sizes, and as it is hand-painted, each decoration differs slightly from the next, while maintaining a unique production line.
A beautiful metaphor for life: one flower bud opens, another is in full bloom, and a third dies.
