Here is a Bamoun painting, 50 x 65 cm, depicting King Koatou in a sedan chair surrounded by courtiers. The drawing is framed by a geometric design in India ink. In the grand tradition initiated by the artist Johannès Yerima (later known as Ibrahim Njoya), considered the creator of comics in Africa, this colorful and beautifully composed drawing is the work of a follower who left his name and address on the back: MFonzie René Lavoisié - Central Hospital - Foumban - Cameroon.
