Hello, we offer you this very nice charcoal by Georges Artemoff, born February 17, 1892 in Ourioupinsk in Russia died in Revel July 9, 1965, is a French painter and sculptor of Russian origin, he studied in Rostov and then in Moscow from 1906 to 1912 and obtained in 1913 a scholarship to go to Paris. He was welcomed by Ossip Zadkine and frequented Picasso, Soutine, Juan Gris and Modigliani.
Seriously wounded during the First World War, he returned to Russia in 1917 and, after the failure of the counter-revolution, he returned to Paris in 1922. He produced a whole series of decorations there until 1939, including the decor of the Caucasian cellar in Unfilm, paintings inspired by his stays in Corsica and sculptures on panels or in the round, very marked by the art deco style.
